ANDREW LAMB I started my career in outdoor education back at school, being introduced to expedition camping by the geography teacher who also ran the outdoor pursuits programme. I established my business, Beacons Experience (now a part of the larger Wales Outdoors Limited) in 1994. The business has grown from the first Mountain Bike Hire business in the Brecon Beacons into a Wales Wide Multi Activity Provider. For many years I have wanted to be part of a group of providers that work together with trust and professionalism as the key tenets of the working relationship. The Outdoor Professionals Co-operative is exactly what I have been looking for, a group of similarly concerned adventure activity and tourism operators who see that working together improves provision and opportunities. I am proud to be a founder member of a co-operative that has as its core principles the desire to enhance provision, care for the environment, offer best practice and to approach any problems collectively. I hope that the innovative and currently unique approach that we have developed will become a template for collective working in the adventure industry.
