MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE IN WALES This two night trek into the wilderness is good for those who want to get away from it all and also for those budding mountaineers... With pre trip planning, kit advise, navigation training, technical walking and 'disaster management' this course has it all - and you will also get a good deal of landscape interpretation and local knowledge too. MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE DETAILS MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE DESCRIPTION BRECON BEACONS NATIONAL PARK WALES We would expect you to have good hillwalking experience, day trips and weekends to familiar peaks, or a keen interest in getting out into remote areas. We can supply all kit but prefer you to have a fair selection of your own, so, pack, waterproofs etc. From the point were you book there will be a stream of information heading your way. The expedition includes all pre trip planning, kit advice, national navigation award training and assessment, safety on steep ground, ML ropework, camp food, day treks and camping. This is a great refresher course for Mountain Leader students and for those thinking of goning it alone on remote area camping backpacking trips. This is a mountaineering course and some hardship must be expected - long hill climbs with full pack for instance - but the quiet nights under the stars, in beautifull locations, surronded only by nature, are well worth the effort. We bring to the trip all necessary safety equipment, a sound knowledge of the area and a keen eye for safety. WHO CAN TAKE PART? From those with a good level of fitness wishing to get away from it all to mountaineers in training - We will tailor make the expedition to reflect your experience. DURATION OF MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE This is, in effect, a three day course but it can fit into a weekend rather well, so long as you are prepared for a night hike on the Friday OPERATING PERIOD OF MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE January 1st - December 31st COST PER PERSON Adult £350.00 Under 18 £275.00 - This is a cost for a 1:1 expedition. MOUNTAIN LEADER EXPEDITION COURSE KIT LIST We will advise on kit in a comprehensive expedition kit list. We can provide all required equipment but would expect you to have some experience and so the basic items already. CAN I COMBINE THIS WITH ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES? This is a full advenure mountaineering expedition so no need to combine with another activity. Saying this though, why not combine this with Rock Climbing and Abseiling. That would certainly give you good confidence and experience on the steeper terrain. CAN I USE A CAMERA / CAMCORDER Yes. There are good opportunites to film the sessions.
